Brighton center-half Ben White has been asked about his decision to pick Arsenal, with Danny Mills joking that he certainly didn’t go there to win trophies.
Reports from the weekend confirmed that Arsenal had has reached a deal to sign the 23-year-old in a £ 50million transfer. White shone on loan with Leeds two seasons ago. He backed that up with a superb top-flight inaugural campaign with parent club Brighton last year.

His ability on the ball is expected to translate well into a team higher up in the standings. Indeed, a recent report detailed the surprise of an expert that neither Chelsea nor Man Utd had moved.
Instead, the middle half appears to be bound for the Emirates, although talkSPORT expert Danny Mills has the distinct impression White could have shown more ambition with the club he chose.
Mills said (via the Express): “What will he win at Arsenal? The Coupe de la Ligue if he’s lucky. Maybe the FA Cup?
“It will take some time for Arsenal to win a Champions League.
“Winning the Premier League, you are probably looking at seven or eight years later. He could retire before this step.
“I think he’s an exceptional player and a fantastic signing for Arsenal. I’m just a little surprised that Manchester United, who are looking for a center-half, haven’t come for him.
White’s move will be the second signing in a row. The Gunners recently struck a deal for midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga.
The talented Belgian admitted that the progression in class will be huge, but explained how useful it will be to Mikel Arteta after having detailed his positional versatility.
Arsenal determined to derail Serie a move
Meanwhile, Arsenal remain determined to land Manuel Locatelli and are working hard behind the scenes to get their hands on the Italian star, according to a report.
Mikel Arteta’s interest in Locatelli has been confirmed. Earlier this month Sdirector assuolo Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed that Arsenal have made an offer for the player. It turns out the offer is better than what Juve have offered so far.
According to Calciomercato Going through Sports witness, Juve struggled to find an agreement with their Italian rivals “thanks to a superior offer from Arsenal”. The point of sale claims the the first meeting between the two Serie A teams “failed”.
Respected journalist Fabrice Romano claims that the Gunners are ready to go at asking price for the awesome star.
However, they will only recruit players who are happy and 100% determined to move to the Emirates.
