Nielsen focuses on new international training center with £ 100,000 investment

One of the UK’s leading manufacturers of specialty automotive cleaning products has completed the £ 100,000 redevelopment of its international training center in Derbyshire.

Nielsen, which supplies more than 100 products to car dealerships, professional valets and the commercial vehicle cleaning markets, has installed new anti-slip floors, lighting and equipment, including pressure washers, foaming equipment, dry vacuums and wet and dual-action polishers.

This significant investment will give the company a world-class facility to showcase its product line in an environment that will help its customers train 1,000 of their employees each year.

Five people will initially be employed in this field, with the company planning to recruit an additional dedicated trainer in 2022.

“It has been a difficult year with the pandemic shutting down a number of facilities, but we have been successful in securing new contracts, supplying hard surface disinfection products to emergency departments and continuing to grow existing accounts.” , commented James Lomas, Director of Sales. in Nielsen.

“This has seen the demand for our cleaning and cleaning products steadily increase and, in order to make sure that we can show customers how to get the most out of them, we knew we had to create an International Training Academy that was there- top with the very best in our industry.

He continued, “Our experts have designed each of the improvements we have made and also updated our training program to include six specialized sections, including interior, exterior, wheels and tires, strippers and shampoos. for road traffic, polishing and cutting and air fresheners. .

A member of the Reabrook Group, Nielsen manufactures all of its products at its 11-acre site in Moira, where it harnesses the knowledge and capabilities of its automotive development and compliance lab.

All products, from interior trims and wheel cleaning to tire trims and tar and glue removal, are designed in accordance with applicable legislation to ensure they meet the tough demands of the automotive market.

Hundreds of raw materials and mixtures are tested as part of the process to create the highest performing, environmentally friendly cleaning and maintenance products suitable for all existing and emerging materials.

James added, “Nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) has been widely used in the cleaning industry for years, but is now classified as a carcinogen that can cause cancer.

In one of the biggest developments in years, we’ve created a portfolio of NTA-free formulations, and these safer solutions are going to be in high demand.

“Manual car washes are making a comeback now that we’ve come out of lockdown, and we have exciting plans to target more valeting services under contract with our professional line, as well as to finalize the line of our retail offering – in reason for launch in 2022.

“Our commitment to sustainable development and our willingness to do everything possible to reduce our carbon footprint will be at the heart of our growth. This has allowed us to sign a contract to work in partnership with The National Forest, sponsoring a 38 hectare site which has seen a total of over 42,000 trees planted to date.
